Superior Cabinets becomes first WOODMARK-certified kitchen cabinet manufacturer in Saskatchewan

March 16th, 2009, Saskatoon, SK, Canada – The Wood Products Quality Council is pleased to announce that Superior Cabinets is the first company in Saskatchewan to become certified through the WOODMARK Quality Certification Program.   Superior has been manufacturing custom kitchen cabinetry since 1980.  The company prides itself on providing a quality customer experience, its industry leading quality production process, and its engagement of employees in all aspects of the business.

Superior manufacturers from two facilities with a total of 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They currently employ corporately, a team of over 200 employees. Using the WOODMARK quality program as a springboard they have been able to reduce costs significantly by decreasing internal and external non-conformances by 40%, while increasing productivity by 30% and capacity by 60%.  The improved culture at Superior has also shown dividends through decreasing lost time due to injury by more than 90%.

Superior now joins an elite group of Canadian manufacturers who have made a commitment to improving manufacturing competitiveness through quality control and continuous improvement. WOODMARK Certified Companies are now represented across Canada and can be found in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
